ECA Founder Jo Butler will address the Rotary Club of Frederick Maryland on May 4th, 2016 about her recent trip to Ethiopia, ECA current activities and new projects. The Club has expressed interest in supporting a project to provide better access to water for children attending the Melka Oba school in Ethiopia. This would mean improved hygiene for the students and a consistent source of water for the organic vegetable garden.
ECA will hold a small fundraising bazaar on Saturday, May 14, at the Spring Fling event in Urbana, Maryland, at the Natelli Community Center, 9023 Harris Street, Villages of Urbana from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The recent fundraising bazaars in Addis and Geneva were very successful. The new collection of jewelry, which included items made by the AFC granddaughters, was loved by all and proved to be best sellers. The founder, Jo Butler spent five months in Addis teaching the girls jewelry making skills and techniques.
The online Schoolery: Jewels for Schools’ store has been on hiatus while ECA founder was in Ethiopia. The store will reopen in a week. All proceeds directly support ECA projects. Go to www.etsy/shop/schoolery.
We are pleased to announce that ECA now has 501(c)(3) tax exempt non profit status. This means that all contributions from US citizens are tax exempt.
